Trip to Lappland

So, nach langer Funkstille nun endlich mal wieder ein Eintrag von mir! Dafür aber auch glaub ich der mit Abstand längste… gefühlt wenigstens! Die Bilder gibt es erstganz am Schluss (und überspringen gildet nix, es muss schon alles gelesen werden 
)
Ich war die letzte Woche mit 15 Leuten aus aller Herren Länder (Österreich, Wales, Belgien, Holland, Australien, Deutschland und Italien wenn ich mich recht erinnere) in Luosto im Norden Finnlands, also in Lappland!
Lappland, ja richtig, da wo der Weihnachtsmann wohnt! Aber dazu später…
Wir sind in der Nacht von Sonntag auf Montag losgefahren. Zu dem Zeitpunkt waren wir 15 Leute auf 3 mehr oder weniger kleine gemietete Autos verteilt (Fiat Punto, Fiat Stilo und irgendson Kia mit Automatikgetriebe…) Voll bepackt bis oben hin sind wir dann losgefahren in Richtung Norden. Nach einigen Stops und Fahrerwechseln (und für mich einigen Stunden Schlaf) sind wir dann in Rovaniemi angekommen. Das ist das Dorf, wo der Weihnachtsmann wohnt. Bevor wir ihn besuchen wollten, haben wir uns jedoch noch in der University of Lapland in der Mensa gestärkt. Das gute hier in Finnland ist nämlich, dass die Studentenkarte in allen Mensen vergünstigtes Essen bedeutet.
Wir haben uns also durchgefragt und sind dann zum Santa Park gelangt. Leider hatte der gerade an Montagen geschlossen. Naja, wir sind dann erstmal zum LIDL um uns für die nächsten Tage einzudecken. Als wir die eh schon übervollen Autos auch noch mit einigen Einkaufswagen an Lebensmitteln gefüllt hatten, sind wir dann Richtung Luosto zu unserer Hütte aufgebrochen. Auf dem Weg dahin haben wir dann das Santa Claus Village gesehen, das jeden Tag im Jahr geöffnet hat und wo auch Santa’s Office ist. Hmpf, naja, am Mittwoch kam eh noch jemand per Zug in Rovaniemi an, weswegen wir eh nochmal hierher mussten.
Nachdem wir dann mit Hilfe von GPS erst eine andere und dann unsere Hütte gefunden hatten (das Navi brauchten wir auch die nächsten Tage noch um nach Hause zu finden, weil dort oben wirklich jede Straße wie die andere aussieht…), haben wir erstmal unsere Zimmer bezogen und unsere Sachen reingetragen.
Wir hatten erst eine halbe Stunde an der falschen Hütte gestanden, bis wir dann per Telefon Hilfe anforderten, weil wir den Schlüssel unter der Fußmatte nicht gefunden hatten.
Ich war die Woche über mit Tommy, Arnim und Manuel auf einem Zimmer. Alles Deutsche.
Die Hütte hatte ein super Ausstattung: Sauna, eine super Küche, massig Geschirr und Gläser (von denen einiges auch zu Bruch ging…), 2 Fernseher, Karaoke, X-Box, WLAN… was will man mehr?
Wir hatten uns außerdem in 3er Teams aufgeteilt. Jedes Team hat an einem Tag gekocht. So kamen wir neben Nudeln und Lasagne auch zu Rentier und einer sehr leckeren (und kalorienreichen) belgischen Spezialität.
Am Dienstag sind wir dann auch gleich zum nahegelegenen Luosto Skigebiet gefahren. Es gab zwar nur 2 kleinere Pisten, da ich aber eh erst am Samstag und Sonntag zuvor meine ersten Stunden auf dem Snowboard verbracht habe (Snowboardkurs von der Uni organisiert, sehr zu empfehlen) war das nicht ganz so schlimm. Ich habe auch den ganzen Tag dann nur den Anfängerteil des Hügels befahren. Nur am Ende bin ich von ganz oben gefahren. Es war verdammt steil und ich bin nur mit dem Board parallel zum Hang gefahren, also bremsend. Unten taten mir dann auch ganz schön meine Oberschenkel weh… Manuel, Arnim, Tommy und ich sind zwischendurch nochmal nach Haus gefahren um was zu essen. Leider hab ich meine Mütze und meine Handschuhe auf der Bank dort liegengelassen. Da wir allerdings in Finnland sind, waren meine Sachen trotzdem noch an der genau der Stelle, wo ich sie liegenlassen hatte (in Finnland wird glaub ich nicht geklaut…). Leider waren sie total steif gefroren. Zum Glück hatte ich noch Ersatz dabei!
Naja, am Mittwoch ging es dann wie gesagt nach Rovaniemi ins Santa Claus Village. Dort waren wir dann zuerst in Santa’s Main Post Office, wo alle Post ankommt, die an Santa Claus geschickt wird. Die Post wird nach Land sortiert, die meisten werden gelesen und diejenigen mit Absenderadresse bekommen dann auch einen Antwortbrief. Warum wusste ich das in meiner Kindheit eigentlich nicht? Eins steht fest: Nächstes Jahr schreibe ich einen Brief an Santa Claus, Rovaniemi, Arctic Circle, Finland!!!
Dann war es soweit: Wir sollten Santa Claus höchstpersönlich treffen. Tommy hatte eigentlich die Aufgabe ihm seinen Bart herunter zu ziehen, war aber zu feige… Allerdings haben wir ein Photo mit ihm machen lassen und uns dann Postkarten damit drucken lassen (5 Stück für 30€… die lassen sich das gut bezahlen!)
Dann ging es noch zum LIDL und ein paar Sachen einkaufen und dann sind Manuel, Tommy und ich noch zur alten Marttiini Messer Fabrik gefahren. DAS ist das wahre Messerparadies. Bastian hätten wir gleich dalassen können, wenn er dabei gewesen wäre. Der wäre da wahrscheinlich am liebsten eingezogen
Am Donnerstag sind dann viele noch in ein etwas weiter entferntes, dafür aber größeres Skigebiet gezogen um wieder zu snowboarden. Da ich allerdings schon 3mal in 4 Tagen boarden war, hab ich verzichtet und wollte mir einen ruhigen Tag machen und evtl. ein bisschen für meine anstehende Klausur lernen. Tja, als ich dann nach draußen bin um ein paar Photos im Hellen zu machen (wir hatten nur ca. 3-4 Stunden Licht am Tag) hat Tommy mich dann überzeugt mit ihm dne nahegelegenen Hügel hochzukraxeln. Nach einiger Zeit sind wir dann wieder an der Hütte angekommen und haben die anderen beiden daheimgebliebenen Arnim und Mike überzeugt mit uns ein Iglu zu bauen. Nach 4,5 Stunden war auch das geschafft. Ein Meisterwerk! Die anderen sind dann auch wiedergekommen und sind dann auch gleich nach der Sauna in unser neues Eigenheim gekrochen! Tommy, Mike und ich haben dann am Abend auch unser letztes Bier im Iglu getrunken. Da konnte man allerdings schon die Folgen des Tauwetters erahnen. Die Decke war schon bedrohlich weit nach unten gesackt. Am nächsten morgen war sie dann leider auch gleich ganz eingestürzt. Vorher wurde am Donnerstag Abend aber noch ein deftiges Trinkspiel gespielt mit selbst erfundenen Regeln (Jede Karte des 52er Blattes hieß im Grunde trinken für jemanden…)
Naja, es folgte ein sehr ruhiger Freitag, an dem einige noch Hundeschlitten fahren gingen und anschließend noch Cross-Country-Ski. Arnim und Tommy haben die 3 belgischen Jungs noch weiter in den Norden kutschiert, da diese noch eine Hiking Tour machen wollten und dann mit Bus, Zug und per Anhalter nach Jyväskylä zurück wollen (geplante Ankundt Dienstag morgen…). Tommy wollte eigentlich nur eine Stunde mitlaufen, hat sich dann aber entschieden die volle Strecke mit zu gehen. Da er nix mit hatte musste er sich natürlich erstmal eine komplette Ausrüstung kaufen/mieten. Ich bin mal gespannt, ob man je wieder was von den vieren hört!
Samstag mittag ging es dann auch schon wieder zurück Richtung Jyväskylä. Mit Manuel und Arnim im kleinen Punto sind wir um 11 Uhr losgefahren. Leider haben wir in Rovaniemi vergessen zu tanken und waren schon auf Reserve, als mein Navi uns sagte, dass die nächste Tanke auf unserem Weg über 70km entfernt war. Tja mist… Die nächstgelegen Tankstellen war zwar nicht auf unserem Weg, aber wir haben sie dann angesteuert um nicht liegen zu bleiben. Leider waren die Infos von TomTom wohl veraltet. Das heißt es waren dort zwar Zapfsäulen, aber leider wurde die Tankstelle schon einige Zeit vorher geschlossen. (Kein Wunder, bei der Lage am A… der Welt!). Wir hatten allerdings Glück, denn im Tankhäuschen/-lädchen waren eine ganze Menge Leute. Wir sind da wohl mitten in die Abschlussfeier des Sohnes des Hauses geplatzt, der gerade seinen Militärdienst beendet hatte. Zum Glück war der Vater Taxifahrer und hatte einen Reservekanister, den er uns dann überlassen hat. So konnten wir dann den Weg zur nächsten Tanke überstehen. Nach ca. 10 Stunden Fahrt waren wir dann auch wieder in Jyväskylä angekommen.
War ein super Trip, danke nochmal an alle, die mit dabei waren!
So, in der kommenden Woche muss ich dann auch nur noch eine Hausarbeit beenden (bis Samstag) und am Freitag eine Klausur schreiben, dann is entgültig Schluss mit Uni! Dann haben wir auch nur noch eine Woche frei, dann gehts ab nach Deutschland. Ich bin auch echt froh dann wieder zu Hause zu sein. Mittlerweile vermisst man Familie, Freundin und kleine Hunde doch sehr
Am 23. Dezember ist es dann soweit und wir fliegen von Helsinki aus Richtung Düsseldorf.
Zu Hause, ich komme!!! Meine Back-To-Germany-Party ist auch schon organisiert und über Silvester gehts dann mit meiner Antje ins bergische Land!
Bis dahin werd ich aber bestimmt noch das ein oder andere Mal schreiben…

Long time lurker, thought I would say hello! I really dont post much but thanks for the good times I have here. Love this place..
When I was hurt in that automobile accident my life would be changed eternally. Unfortunately that driver had no car insurance and I was going to be hurting for ever.
This was not time for me to start and guess what to do. I had to find a good lawyer to help me get what I needed. After all, my family was counting on me.
How lousy was it? I has bedridden for 4 months, I had to have constant care and my medical bills went through the roof!
Fortunately, I found a good referral site to help me.
I will post more later this month to tell you more about what I have been going through.
